Institute Director James Robinson presents themes from his new book coauthored with Daron Acemoglu, The Narrow Corridor: States, Societies, and the Fate of Liberty, at Johns Hopkins University SAIS in Washington, DC.

The Pearson Institute International Conflict Seminars (PICS) are programs where students can focus on critical issues of global conflict through immersive international experiences. In March 2019, students from Harris Public Policy visited Israel and the West Bank, engaging with government officials, NGOs, community leaders and more, to gain a holistic perspective of global conflicts relevant to the region.

Ben Rhodes, Deputy National Security Advisor to President Obama from 2009 to 2017, joined The Pearson Institute and University of Chicago International House to share anecdotes and a behind-the-scenes look at his time in the Obama Administration as chronicled in his New York Times bestseller, The World as It Is as part of our Distinguished Speaker Series. The discussion was moderated by Katherine Baicker, Dean and Emmett Dedmon Professor, Harris Public Policy.
